Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Last reviewed:

FanFundU does not sell your personal information and does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Under some state privacy laws, a few things a cashback service does could still count as “selling” or “sharing.” This page explains what those words mean, what we do, and gives you a simple way to opt out.

Your Privacy Choices

You can ask FanFundU not to sell or share your personal information, and — where applicable — to limit the use of sensitive personal information. These choices are free, and exercising them will not change your cashback rates, your team’s earnings, or how we treat your account.

The fastest path is the request form on this page. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a request not to sell or share for that browser, and keeps advertising and personalization off and locked. Nothing optional runs on the site today.

What “Sell” and “Share” Mean

Under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), “selling” can include disclosing personal information to a third party for anything of value — not just money — and “sharing” specifically means disclosing it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads targeted to you based on activity across different sites and apps).

FanFundU does not exchange your personal information for money and does not use advertising or analytics cookies. When you go to a store through us, you pass through the store’s affiliate network, which receives a click identifier (not your name or contact details) and sets its own cookies so your purchase earns cashback for your team. If we ever add tools that pass identifiers to advertising partners, they will stay off for anyone who has opted out.

Categories of Personal Information That May Be Involved

If any of our activity counts as selling or sharing, these are the categories it could involve:

  • Identifiers. A click identifier and, as with any website you visit, your IP address and browser details when you pass through an affiliate network on the way to a store.
  • Internet activity. Which partner store you went to through FanFundU, and when.

We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16, and we do not disclose account passwords or payment card numbers for advertising purposes.

How FanFundU Uses Information for Promotions

We show store promotions on our own site and send marketing email, which you can turn off. Our email provider, Klaviyo, sends these emails for us using your email address and, for some, the stores you visited through us. We do not use advertising networks or analytics providers, and we do not target ads to you on other sites. The retailers and affiliate networks that report qualifying purchases receive only what they need to credit them.

Opting out never affects your team’s cashback.

Attribution — the link between your click and the purchase that earns your team cashback — is how the service works, not advertising. It keeps working after you opt out, and your team’s earnings are unchanged.

Do Not Sell or Share Request

Use this form to submit an opt-out request. You do not need a FanFundU account, but including the email on your account helps us apply the request to it.

Opt-Out Preferences

When you opt out, we keep your request, with the email you gave us (and your account, if you were signed in), in our privacy request records, and we check those records before starting anything that counts as selling or sharing. The GPC signal applies per browser, so turn it on in each browser you use.

Opting out changes nothing else: service messages, cashback and team updates are unaffected.

Authorized Agent Requests

You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request for you. Agents use the same form: they tick “I am submitting this request as an authorized agent on someone else’s behalf” and give their name and the basis of their authority. We may ask the agent for proof of authorization (such as a signed permission) and may confirm the request with you directly before acting on it.

How We Verify Requests

An opt-out request needs only enough information to find you in our records — usually the email on your account; your name is optional. For requests that touch account data (like limiting sensitive information), we may email you to confirm the request is yours. We never ask for your password, and we use the information you submit here only to process the request.

If we cannot match a request to any records, we will let you know what else we need.

Response Timing

Our privacy team handles each request by hand. We act on opt-out requests within 15 business days of receiving them, and we reply to the address you gave us, from support@fanfundu.com, when it’s done.

Additional California Privacy Rights

California residents also have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to access and receive a copy of it, to correct inaccurate information, to delete personal information (with certain exceptions), and to not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

These rights are described in our Privacy Policy; you can exercise them by contacting us. Residents of other states with similar laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Virginia) may exercise comparable rights, including appealing a decision we make about a request.
