Accessibility

Reviewed: Last updated:

FanFundU is used by parents, coaches, boosters, and supporters of all abilities to register teams, find fundraising partners, shop, and manage accounts. We work to make the site, our browser extension, and our communications usable by as many people as possible, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve.

Our Commitment

FanFundU is committed to a website and account tools that people with disabilities can use effectively, and to bringing our browser extension to the same standard. We consider accessibility as we design and build features.

We know we have not solved every accessibility challenge across the product. This page describes what we aim for, what we have in place today, where we fall short, and how to reach us if something is not working for you.

Standards We Aim to Meet

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as our target for the FanFundU website. Our browser extension does not meet that target yet (see Known Limitations). WCAG is a widely used, internationally recognized set of recommendations for making web content more accessible.

Meeting this target is an ongoing goal, not a certification. Some pages and older features are closer to that standard than others, and we prioritize fixes based on impact and how frequently a page or flow is used.

Accessibility Features

Features we build toward and maintain across core flows — registration, team search, shopping, the Share Hub, and account settings — include:

  • Keyboard navigation. We aim for core flows to work with a keyboard alone. Buttons, links, and form fields show a visible focus outline, and a “Skip to content” link at the top of each page jumps past the menus.
  • Screen reader considerations. Semantic HTML, landmark regions, and labels for interactive controls so screen readers can announce page structure and form fields meaningfully.
  • Text resizing and zoom. Pages don’t block browser zoom, and we build them to reflow on small and zoomed screens.
  • Color contrast. We check text contrast against WCAG AA as we design and fix pages.
  • Clear headings and labels. Pages use a logical heading structure and descriptive labels rather than relying on placement or color alone to convey meaning.
  • Form accessibility. Form fields have labels, and error messages say what needs to be corrected and are announced to screen readers.
  • Motion you control. Rotating panels have a pause button, and they start paused when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • English and Spanish. The site is available in English and Spanish, and each page declares its language so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
  • Progress you can hear. Fundraising progress bars and sliders announce their values to screen readers.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we release new features and revisit existing ones, we check them against WCAG 2.2 AA where we can and fix the issues we find. We also act on issues people report to us, which are often the first sign of a gap we missed.

Third-Party Content and Partner Sites

Shopping on FanFundU takes you to retailer websites to complete your purchase, and some features rely on affiliate networks, payment providers, and embedded tools from other companies. These third-party sites and services are built and maintained independently of FanFundU, and their accessibility may differ from ours.

We choose partners with care, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of a retailer’s checkout or of embedded tools such as payment or sign-in forms. If you run into an accessibility barrier on a partner site while trying to complete a FanFundU-related purchase, let us know — we cannot always fix the partner’s site, but we can help you find another way to complete what you were trying to do.

Browser Extension and Mobile Experiences

The FanFundU browser extension does not yet fully support keyboard-only use or screen readers. We are working on it. In the meantime, everything it does can be done on the website: open the store from its FanFundU store page and shop as usual.

Our website works in mobile browsers, including with zoom and screen readers. We don’t have a mobile app yet.

Known Limitations

Some areas of FanFundU don’t yet fully meet our target. Known limitations include: older pages not yet fully reviewed against WCAG 2.2; the browser extension, whose keyboard and screen-reader support is incomplete; the team dashboard’s trend charts, which show their values only on hover; and the printable Share Hub flyer and QR codes, which are images.

If you encounter a limitation not listed here, please report it — see How to Report an Accessibility Issue below.

How to Get Help or Request Accommodations

If you need help using FanFundU because of a disability — registering a team, finding or joining a team, completing a purchase, using the Share Hub, or managing your account — contact us and describe what you are trying to do. We will work with you to complete it: walking through it together, doing it for you where our staff can (for example, sending you a password reset link, adding someone as a team admin, or filing a missing-cashback inquiry for you), or suggesting another way.

How to Report an Accessibility Issue

If you encounter an accessibility barrier anywhere on FanFundU, we want to know about it. Please include the page or feature involved, the device, browser, and assistive technology you were using (if any), and a description of what happened. Screenshots or screen recordings are helpful but not required.

Feedback Response Process

We reply to accessibility requests and reports within 2 business days. We prioritize fixes based on how many people are affected and how central the flow is to using FanFundU, and we will let you know if we need more information to reproduce an issue.

We cannot commit to a fix timeline for every report, particularly where a partner site is involved, but we will follow up on the outcome of reports we can act on directly.
